God did not create a meaningless world.
This is a mind-boggling lesson to most everyone who hears it for the first time. God did not create the world. He doesn’t know anything about it. He doesn’t know about wars, starvation, sickness, aging, abuse and death … and he also doesn’t know about marriages, holidays and good times.
He doesn’t know about the bad stuff and he doesn’t know about the good stuff.
He doesn’t know about this world at all.
He doesn’t know about me blogging every day. He doesn’t know about computers, cars, planes, sickness, houses, or money. He doesn’t know about any of that because He did not create it.
What God does not create does not exist.
He didn’t create the world in six days and rest on the 7th day.
(why would God need to rest?? That should have sounded a red warning bell & alarm off in your head straight away)
He didn’t create the animals, or the trees or the lakes or the earth.
I MADE THIS WORLD.
I’m responsible for this mess.
God only created one perfect Son – you. He created only Oneness, in the likeness of His Image, of which every living thing is a perfect whole part. God knows only love. He didn’t create anything else. He created only perfection.
The workbook lessons of A Course in Miracles are designed to uncover and remove all false ideas to get you back to a place of perfection, where you remember your Identity in God.
Pretty Simple.
This world, this idea of separation, was a huge mistake.
The mistake has been corrected and that’s the reason why there is no process. There is no journey to awakening. You can remember in this very moment that you never left Heaven. You never departed from God. You are perfect and healed and whole. In the instant the mistake was made (and resulted in a world of separate bodies doing separate things), it was corrected. This world is an idea that I could create separately from God. I made the world. This is the reason I’m responsible for it.
“The world you see has nothing to do with reality. It is of your own making, and it does not exist.”
This idea can flip your mind upside down. You may want to argue. You may want to start quoting the bible to prove me wrong. But ask yourself honestly, why would God create a place of chaos?
Is He … or is He not … all-loving and all-powerful?
Why would an all-loving, all-powerful God create death, sickness, war, divorce, murder, car crashes and a world of total inequality? A world of haves and have-nots. Why would some people be born into royalty and some people be born into poverty?
Why would God do that?
Why would God create a condition in which you grow old, and start to get wrinkles and lose your hair and memory?
Only to eventually die.
Why would God do that????
Why would an all loving Father, who has all power, do that to you?
Why??
Why would you have to fend for yourself in this thing called life, and then sometimes get sick, sometimes be depressed, always be afraid, lose the things you love, and then die at the end?
Does that make any sense to you?
Either God is mad and crazy and has a sick sense of humor … or this world is a place is madness.
Which is it?
Some people ask: “Why do bad things happen to good people?”
And then they try to find meaning in chaos, as if God has a life lesson for them.
They try to find comfort and reason in destruction and insanity. They think “there must be a reason for this. God must be strengthening me” or “there must be something God wants me to learn”.
Etc.
But here’s the thing: God doesn’t know anything about it. He doesn’t know about the World Trade Center collapsing. He doesn’t know about Iraq. He doesn’t know about government corruption. He doesn’t know about misuse of power. He doesn’t know secrecy, lies and killing.
He knows only love.
A Course in Miracles, at its most basic level, will begin to become entirely reasonable to you. It will clear up the discrepancies between what you’ve heard about God and what your body’s eyes show you.
You’ll stop looking for meaning in the meaningless.
There is no meaning in war.
God did not create war, and so it is not real.
There is no meaning in sickness.
God did not create cancer, and so it is not real.
Today you are asked to look at “your personal repertory of horrors of which you are looking.”
Name them. Be specific. Then apply the lesson:
God did not create a meaningless world.
He did not create (specify the situation which is disturbing you), and so it is not real.

I know this is supposed to be a serious and important lesson, but when I read this I just had to laugh out loud!
“He didn’t create the world in six days and rest on the 7th day.
(why would God need to rest?? That should have sounded a red warning bell & alarm off in your head straight away)”
Yes yes yes yes I KNOW the tiny mad idea was corrected the instant it happened. NO argument from me. I KNOW it. I AM in heaven where god would have me be!!!!
“world I see” is what I EXPERIENCE based on my IDEAS about what is happening, it is my INTERPRETATION…..concepts such as “bad” or “good” (can I see the whole picture?), ideas reflecting any belief in lack or loss or littleness…..so a car crashes or a plane or there’s tsunami or…..and I react not to the happening, but to my story, my INTERPRETATION……(does the event or situation upset me, or does my THOUGHT ABOUT IT..THE “WORLD I SEE” THAT I HAVE MADE WITH MY THOUGHTS, UPSET ME……THE world without my story is a grandeur and magnificence…life unending….creation (LIFE) ever-creating……WOW…..and Mind at peace, in love, in joy, with everything…….
God did not create abandonment and so it is not real.
I have not read the blog for today’s lesson but wanted to share this. I went to Endeavor Academy on 9/9/99 and stayed for a 4 day Intensive with Master Teacher. One day my friend, Basia could not talk me to the healling centre and arranged a ride with their brother Eddy. As Eddy and I drove, I said to him that ‘ I see that I am afraid of everything’ . And he replied.. ” sounds like you can be helped ” . That is so meaningful to me even today. I have made every decision in my entire life based on fear.. buy insurance so when the car accident comes, the house burns down, take vitamins to keep from getting sick, keep my purse next to me so it doesn’t get stolen. brush my teeth so I do not get cavities, lock the door so I don’t get robbed, walk during the day so I don’t get raped, save money for the next disaster, dress well and wear makeup so I won’t be criticized, keep the cat in for 6 years so I do not experience the pain of loss, wow it is ALL about Me. There is no room for anyone because I am so comsumed with fear. All the what-ifs, the maybe I could be next, oh what about Global warming… How do I look after me? so on top of making all my decisions about fear, I now see I have never ever truly been here for anyone… how could I when all day is about keeping fear away… wow.

Day 14 is really interesting – it’s like all my childhood knowledge is being reawakened in me. I remember knowing this. In fact I recall telling my father this is not a real world. He looked at me like I was insane and told me he would give my a hiding so I would know what reality is.
Now I’m beginning to understand what Jesus was trying to get into the cerebral area of man kind. Oooh I can see this can cause some heated debating and why people thought Jesus was a madman or heretic. Actually Charles Haanel comes to the same conclusion in The Master Key. Only I didn’t really get it then when I read it.
These excersises certainly seem strange but I am understanding now what’s the point of doing them.
