Lesson 35

My mind is part of God’s. I am very holy.

This statement is about YOU.

This statement is about ME.

The workbook lessons of A Course in Miracles are stated in a format that make it easy for you to declare.

The “my” and “I” in these lessons are about you, as you state these lessons out loud or silently to yourself.

My mind is part of God’s. I am very holy.

Say that out loud.

My mind is part of God’s. I am very holy.

This idea can be very startling the first time you use it. It is a statement that goes against EVERYTHING you have learned about yourself and God.

You thought you were separate, you thought you were a body, and you thought that God was outside of you … if he even existed at all.

Now, you are being brought back to truth.

This statement, if you have the courage to declare it, will change you.

Say it out loud.

My mind is part of God’s. I am very holy.

Now keep repeating this idea to yourself.

My mind is part of God’s. I am very holy.

Now close your eyes for 3-5 minutes and search your mind for various kinds of descriptive terms in which you see yourself. Use positive and negative terms, desirable or undesirable, grandiose or debased.

I am fat, I am pretty, I’m getting old, I have lots of energy, I am generous, I am kind, I see myself as failing, I see myself as helpless, I see myself as doubtful.

Spend the next 3-5 minutes thinking about yourself and all descriptive terms in which you see yourself.

NOW REALIZE NONE OF THESE IDEAS ARE TRUE.

Why?

Because your mind is part of God’s. You are very holy.

I did a search on the internet for a photo to post here and all I could find when I typed in “holy” and “holiness” were images of saints, the Dalai Lama, Jesus, God, water, rosary, bibles, and photos of places in nature and churches.

The world’s definition of holy.

Do you see? This world defines holy as certain people, statues, and places, but never as you.

Today you are declaring the truth about yourself. Your mind is part of God’s. You are very holy.

Interesting that you chose to say ‘very holy.’ It means some things are a little bit holy, and some are very holy, and some are completely holy. However I am going to take your suggestion and remind myself that I am holy. It’s helpful to me and I need to do it. As you see, I have quibbled on little things like that, when the intention is clearly good.

This Lesson 35 is the beginning of seeing that God’s will and our will are one and the same. Religion has taught us anything but the truth. They want to hold us back and make us believe that we are not Holy, only the pastors, elders, leaders of the church are Holy. I am waving the bullshit flag. My mind is a part of God’s. I am very Holy. In fact, all of us have God’s thoughts in our mind…we are all Holy!

All of our minds are part of God’s. We are all Holy…no exceptions to God’s laws!

Hi love, I am here with such a good day goin’on. Here i am as happy as i have ever ever been. I sat outside last night under the stars and just breathed God in.. pretty soon I was in tears with my chest filled with love and gratitude. i have been at 2 meetings this week and both of them I have been different… accepting, loving, peaceful, grateful. And all those ones that used to piss me off, I ended up going over and hugging and calling them ‘sweetheart’ and having a chat. wow I feel so light compared to the heavy weight of carrying all that story and darkness and fear… Love is Light. wow.Same old thought patterns returned this aft. but I am not willing to give up God for them any more and could not remember the lesson but used any lesson I could remember or some form of it to stay in the Light… wow Lisa I love you. God rocks. Jayme
