Who would need therapy after realizing the truth of the above paragraph??
A Course in Miracles is filled with gems that will save you time, money and misery.
In one amazing paragraph (two sentences!) it explains your “feelings of acute and constant conflict.”
It’s right here on the page. It says it in black and white. It’s the answer to your prayers. It’s so simple. You are in conflict because you experience yourself as two: as both good and evil, loving and hating, mind and body.
So what’s the solution?
Start experiencing yourself as One.
You are the light of the world. Evil does not exist. You are not two selves. You are one.
This is today’s and yesterday’s lesson. I am one Self united with my Creator. Salvation comes from my one Self.
Truth and illusion cannot be reconciled, no matter how you try.
So, step away from the illusion ma’am! Step out of the falsity, sir!
This is so amazing. You cannot reconcile truth and illusion. This is the reason why trying to solve your problems will never work. They are not real. You cannot bring truth to your problems and hope for a solution. You can only go to truth and your problems disappear because darkness cannot withstand the light.
“Problems that have no meaning cannot be resolved within the framework they are set.”

This course is so simple.
Just stand in the light, remember the truth, practice the daily lessons every hour, apply them in situations that arise, extend the love that you are … and watch all your problems disappear.
This is a great lesson.
“Who can resolve the senseless conflicts which a dream presents? Waste no time on this. What could the resolution mean in truth? What purpose could it serve? What is it for?”
Amazing.
Are you doing these lessons every day? Are you reading what they say? Are you applying these ideas in your daily life?
These sentences are unbelievable. They simplify everything. They make everything clear.
And they work!
You can change your life drastically in 30 seconds simply by having a willingness to change your perspective about any situation.
The reason I personally love A Course in Miracles is because it’s so logical. It’s not religion. It’s more like philosophy or psychology.
And the other thing I like is that you can test these ideas out in your own life to see if they are true.
While the Christian extremists say negative things about it, you – YOU – in the privacy of your own home (I sound like a commercial!) can simply test these ideas out in your own private life, quietly, without telling anyone, and see for yourself what it is. That’s the beauty. This is not a group or another path that sets you off from others. It is a simple program, with lessons that are organized from 1-365, that you can practice – TEST DRIVE BEFORE YOU BUY – and see what it is with your own eyes.
It’s works entirely.
Suddenly, for no reason at all, you begin to experience moments of peace, joy and happiness. It might come only in glimpses at first, but this will be enough to show you that something new is occurring for you.
It’s like you Stumble Upon something quite extraordinary, seemingly by accident. You open a door and it’s filled with jewels and light – a treasure house – and you’re almost a little unbelieving at first. You shut the door and you think it must be a scam. You are skeptical. You think “too good to be true”. You think: “it’s not normal to be happy all the time and to have no problems.”
But once you open the door and glimpse what is behind it, you can never go back. You know what is there. You know it is real. You can fight yourself for a long time, struggling while saying this world is more real than what you saw behind the door.
But it’s only a matter of time, because once you see what is behind the door (and you have!) there is no going back.
“Each time today you tell your frantic mind salvation comes from your one Self, you lay another treasure in your growing store. And all of it is given everyone who asks for it, and will accept the gift. Think, then, how much is given unto you to give this day, that it be given you!”

Good Morning. Did you do yesterday’s lesson? It’s amazing. It talks about realizing “the extent of lack of mental discipline” and “your need for mind training.”
It says: “It is difficult at this point not to allow your mind to wander, if if undertakes extended practice. You have surely realized this by now.”
And to realize this is everything.
You suddenly recognize the importance of “training your mind in a systematic way” to see things differently.
You have surely realized this by now.
The fun is in seeing physical results. What is the purpose of the Course if your life is not changing? This is not a course in the play of ideas, but in their practical application. Your life should be changing drastically because these lessons produce dramatic changes when you apply them to the way you think and see and act.
“When you fail to comply with the requirements of this course, you have merely made a mistake. This calls for correction, and for nothing else. To allow a mistake to continue it to make additional mistakes, based on the first and reinforcing it.”
This is something else! This means if you made mistakes yesterday, or in the past, let them be corrected for you. Let them go, and start again today.
Make a new commitment. Re-dedicate yourself. You will feel the joy in doing this. You will feel a powerful energy wash through you.
This course is nothing without your continual commitment to keep remembering the truth about yourself, others and the world EVERY HOUR.
You’re in mind training
You are one Self, in perfect harmony with all there is and all there will be.

YOU ARE NEEDED TO BRING HAPPINESS TO ALL THE WORLD.
I love how these lessons are a paradox. They say two things at once:
1. there is no world.
2. you are needed to bring happiness to the world.
Of course, the only way you can bring happiness to the world is to realize there is no world, and that you are not of it or in it. Extending happiness then becomes a natural part of what you are and what you do … because … are you ready … you recognize you are one Self!
“And Heaven looks to you in confidence that you will try today. Share, then, it’s surety, for it is yours. Be vigilant.”
Be vigilant!
Do not forget today.
“Do not forget today. Throughout the day do not forget your goal. Repeat today’s idea as frequently as possible, and understand each time you do so, someone hears the voice of hope, the stirring of truth within his mind, the gentle rustling of the wings of peace.”
All because of you! All because you made a decision to repeat today’s idea as frequently as possible.

I love this lesson. To me, it is the entire Text, Workbook, Teachers Manual and Clarification of Terms all rolled into one simple, short lesson.
I am as God created me.
Everything A Course in Miracles teaches leads to this one lesson: I am as God created me.
Here is the goal of the course accomplished: that I recognize my Identity in God and realize that “I am as God created me.”
It even uses the word “goal” in this lesson:
“Nothing is required of you to reach this goal except to lay all idols and self-images asides; go past the list of attributes, both good and bad, you have ascribed to yourself; and wait in silent expectancy for the truth. God has Himself promised that it will be revealed to all who ask for it. You are asking now.
You cannot fail because He cannot fail.”

I’m pretty excited about it. It’s exactly what I love to do. You know how Sophie (on the Oprah commercials) says: “Reading is my passion!” ?
Well, cooking is my passion. I love weddings. I went to a culinary cooking school in Vermont for college with the intention of someday owning a bed & breakfast. That was my big dream. And believe it or not, I love housekeeping. I love scrubbing toilets and hot tubs. I know, I must be crazy, but I love it. It’s like meditation, but active and fun. This place has 5 beautiful houses and I got a regular schedule with great hours, and it all happened … just like that today.
I realized I just needed to change my mind and see things differently.
Gorgeous for God is going to be fun this summer. I feel very free right now, which is amazing, because usually when I get a job I feel like I’ve just been handed a prison sentence.
But this is exactly what I love to do.
I’m also thrilled that I’m going to have money! $$$$$$$$$ I am going to be able to pay bills & long overdue debts, go shopping, give to those who need help, and best of all: play!
I know you all probably take these simple things entirely for granted, but for me, who has gone quite some time without a job or money: I’m pretty excited.
My days of drifting & scraping by are over.
Today I realized I had an Amazon gift certificate (that I didn’t even know about!) so I bought the book Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker. I’m excited about it receiving it in the mail. It talks about reprogramming old habits, and I realize I have many false ridiculous ideas about money and spirituality that have kept me in poverty … and those days are over. I’m done feeling guilty about making/having money.
I’m done with limitation. This is going to be a fun summer. I can’t wait to see how it opens up, to see what happens. I’ll keep doing the lessons here (“blogging is my passion!”) and I just thank you all for putting up with me, for being patient and supportive, and just loving me up no matter what tangents I go off on.

A bad flood threatens to destroy a small town, and an evacuation is conducted. Most of the population leaves immediately. One man, however, is deeply devout and refuses to leave. When some of the townspeople encourage him to leave with them, he replies…”The Lord looks after me, he will protect me.”
And so the people left without him.
Hours later, the man is standing outside. The water is up to his waist. Some men paddle by in a canoe and invite him to join them.
The man replied “I do not need your help. The Lord looks after me, he will protect me.”
The men in the canoe leave.
Hours later, the water is up to the man’s neck. Some men come by in a motorboat, and offer their assistance to the man.
The man replied “I do not need your help. The Lord looks after me, he will protect me.”
The men in the boat leave.
The next day the man is sitting on his rooftop. The water level has risen drastically, and is almost touching the rooftop itself. A helicopter appears, and a ladder is thrown down. A man appears at the door with a megaphone and says “YOU MUST LEAVE NOW OR YOU WILL DROWN.”
The man replied “I do not need your help. The Lord looks after me, he will protect me.”
And so the helicopter leaves.
The man drowns that day.
As he appears before God, he says “Lord, I am not worthy to question you. But I have been devout to you my entire life. I have tried to live my life as good as I possibly could. Why did you abandon me? Why didn’t you save me?”
God replied “I sent you two boats and a chopper. What more did you want?”

I have been a course student for about 15 years. I have been guided to write to you especially after reading your post today. I have been reading your blog and listening to your audios. And I love them. I had read one of your posts where you said you wanted to have amazing experiences and be active and have money to support yourself. (I don’t remember exactly what you said but it was something like that). I remember feeling my heart sing and I knew that was exactly what God wanted for you. Then I read another post where you said you were being accused of serving two masters, between God and Money. I felt that the two masters were not between God and Money but between God and maybe some guilt you have about Money. I believe God would say to you Lisa keep your desires and get rid of the guilt. The whole point of the course is for us to get rid of the guilt, and to be our free and innocent selves. And to remind us that we are not separate from God, when you keep as king God what he wants for you you are putting him outside of yourself where he is not. Listen and follow your heart that is where the real God lives.
And I say this in complete love.

“That you have made mistakes is obvious. That you have sought salvation in strange ways; have been deceived, deceiving and afraid of foolish fantasies and savage dreams; have bowed down to idols made of dust – all this is true by what you now believe.”
This is true. I have made mistakes. It is obvious.
I’ve done certain things wrong, but I’m not entirely sure even as I type this what I’ve done wrong, or where I got off the path. It’s like I went left when I was supposed to go right or straight. I don’t even know when or how I took a wrong turn but I know the path I am currently on is leading me nowhere. It’s a dead-end street.
I need to do things differently, starting today.
I’m lost. I need help.
I believed that if I followed Jesus entirely, and did what he was asking of me – followed the Course and the bible 100% – I would be taken care of as I fulfilled a function for God.
That it would be like working for God in the same way I would work for any employer. I would do what was asked, and be taken care of.
It seemed reasonable at the time – but now it is evident I need to do things differently.
I believe this message (and continue to believe) with all my heart. I finally have found a purpose in life: to follow Jesus and to demonstrate the Laws of God here on earth.
It has brought me clarity and like today’s lesson says: light, joy and peace.
Following Jesus has brought eternal truth into my awareness.
My whole life I have taken care of myself. I’ve made money and paid my bills. I’ve been working jobs since I was 9 years old: starting with babysitting the neighbor’s newborn baby. I’ve always had a job. And really, making money was always easy & effortless for me, but I was miserable and in conflict with other areas of my life and everything felt meaningless and I wanted my life to be different, changed, transformed.
So when I came upon A Course in Miracles and started reading the bible again, I came upon some ideas that made me terrifically happy.
Be the light of the world!
Most especially I loved the idea of becoming like a child and being taken care of. I breathed a sigh of relief that I could finally relax. My whole life I’ve wanted someone to take care of me. I wanted to be a happy little kid, with no cares, no worries, no concerns. Children don’t worry about money. My cats don’t worry about money. They are themselves – happy and sad, good and bad – and I take care of them. It doesn’t matter if they act out or if they are sweet as can be … I take care of them. The sun just shines and it doesn’t have any needs. This may sound stupid but this is what I believed.
What I DO believe.
A Course in Miracles says: you have no needs.
What does this mean? Does anyone know what this means? I would like to know and to see that it is true. It seems like I have tons of needs while I’m in a body.
Maybe this is just naive on my part. I take these instructions literally when Jesus says give everything away and follow me, and forget the world.
I did this – I do this – in total gratitude and love to demonstrate God’s message on earth.
And everything is falling apart.
I also believed that I would be healed of deafness, but I’m still deaf. I’m still blind without contact lenses. Up until about a year ago, for maybe 20 years I thought: TODAY IS THE DAY!
but it never happened, and finally I just saw that it was a total misuse of energy to keep waiting for a miracle.
But it still doesn’t make any sense to me because I know God, and I know the bible is true, and I know that in any instant I could see physical results of healing.
I know other people have had physical healings so I know that it is must be true for me and everyone.
So I am standing in a strange place today, because I realize I’ve been wrong about everything. I’m saying it here because I’m not like Mother Theresa where you will find my letters of doubt later after I’m dead.
You will read them now.
One thing I do know is true is that light, joy and peace abide in me. I do know about eternal happiness. I do now that “training your mind in a systematic way’ works 100%, and that within me is the ability to go from darkness to light in 30 seconds or less.
I know there is a solution in this.
But I don’t know about healing the body. I don’t know anything about being taken care of. I don’t know about becoming like little children. I don’t know about the lilies of the valley – they neither spin nor toil.
Right now, everything is falling apart in my life. Maybe this is what is supposed to happen? I have no idea. As I type this I think, maybe I’m just supposed to let it all fall apart, but that just seems stupid to me … when I could go get a job today.
“Miracles are seen in light, and light and strength are one.”
Light = Strength
Darkness = Weakness
This is a great lesson. “You think seeing is tied up with the body and its eyes and brain.”
LOL.
“You believe the body’s brain can think.”
I’m not an LOL kind of person but it is totally appropriate here. LOL. Lots of Laughs. It’s so funny, once you know that you are the Mind of God. You will laugh out loud that you ever thought your eyes could see or that your ears could hear or that your brain could think.
You, as God created you, are purely Mind, wholly Mind. You are not a body. You are the Mind of God. You are entirely creative. You are forever pure. There is no lack. You have total understanding. Complete knowledge. All power with God’s strength supporting you.
Knowing this, you would stop investing in your body’s limited abilities to see, hear and think. The body cannot do any of these things. You are a mind. You are spirit. You are light. This needs continual repeating until you know it as fact and truth.
“It is your weakness that sees through the body’s eyes.”

Can you see this? Can you hear what this is saying? It’s outstanding. When you are using the body’s eyes to see, you are using weakness. The body’s eyes can only show you falsity. They can only show you form, which is meaningless and will deceive you every time. You will believe other people are doing things to you. And this is lies, lies, lies.
No one is doing anything to you. Nothing at all is happening.
While you think bodies (your own and others) are doing things in the world you are actually sound asleep, with your eyes open, believing that what you see is real.
You need to get into the habit of using Christ vision to see beyond the body, to see what is truly there. You start training yourself to see the spark in every person, to see the light in everything. You look past form. This takes great practicing, perseverance and dedication. The body’s eyes will fail you every time. You must train yourself to see with Christ vision.
What does this mean? It means that when your brother is acting out, attacking you, in confusion, doing whatever he is doing … YOU … THE SAVIOR … are asked to see beyond his actions. You look beyond the form. You relate only to that which is eternal and changeless, to the love that is there.
Often times, it is only a spark … the tiniest dimmest spark, barely noticeable.
And often, your brother does not know any better. He acts out of fear, and that’s not your concern. You don’t have to change him. You don’t have to instruct him. He does not need to hear concepts from A Course in Miracles. Why? Because he’s not even there!!! This is amazing. He’s simply an idea in your mind.
That person out there who is driving your crazy or who is pushing you away is you. So you don’t have to change him or her. You simply have to change your mind about the situation. You need to learn to see things differently.
Welcome to the practice of A Course in Miracles.
Welcome to Christ vision.
Here is where you start relating to everything as ENERGY, as LIGHT, as ETERNAL, as CHANGELESS, as SPIRIT, as MIND.
The body’s eyes will continually show you form. As far as I know, that will never change. My job is not to change the form. My job is to see the perfection in my brother and to relate only to that.
“To demonstrate that I am not an ego. I am a channel for God.”
Strength = the truth about you
Weakness = an idol falsely worshipped and adored that strength my be dispelled, and darkness rule where God appointed there should be light.
Amazing.
“Weakness cannot see a purpose in forgiveness and in love. It sees all others different from itself, and nothing in the world that it would share. It judges and condemns but does not love. It fears and attacks and hates itself and darkness covers everything it sees.”
ON THE OTHER HAND:
“The light of strength is constant, sure as love, forever glad to give itself away, because it cannot give but to itself.”
So do you see? You have a choice to make. You are either relating from your own weakness (judging others, condemning, correcting others behavior) OR you are relating from the strength of God (extending love, staying in a state of appreciation and gratitude, being helpful, realizing everyone shares your Identity in God)
So, you have a choice.
You make this choice in every situation.
You choose your own weakness or your choose God’s strength.
And you’ll know which one you choose by the way you feel. Weakness will make you feel angry, deprived, depressed and confused. God’s strength will make you feel happy, appreciative and alive.
This lesson asks to give 20 minutes today to practicing this lesson, morning and evening.
20 minutes to join with God, to leave the darkness, and to remember the truth.
“The gift of sight is given to you.”
“Let us repeat as often as we can the idea for today, and recognize that we are being introduced to sight, and led away from darkness to the light where only miracles can be perceived.”
This is for you, from Jesus:
“My trust in you is greater than yours in me at the moment, but it will not always be that way. Your mission is very simple. You are asked to live so as to demonstrate that you are not an ego, and I do not choose God’s channel wrongly. The Holy One shares my trust, and accepts my Atonement decisions because my will is never out of accord with His. I have said before that I am in charge of the Atonement. This is only because I completed my part in it as a man, and now can complete it through others. My chosen channels cannot fail, because I will lend them my strength as long as their is wanting.” – Chapter 4, Section VI
A Course in Miracles becomes entirely clear and understandable as soon as you begin reading it knowing that Jesus of Nazareth is the author and that he wrote it for YOU.
It is Jesus’ love letter to you.
It will make perfect sense to you when you read A Course in Miracles in this way, as if it’s a letter (a very very long letter!) from Jesus to you.
He means what he says. He gives specific instructions. He reminds you how loved and appreciated you are.
You are a channel for God. Jesus’ trust in you is greater than yours in him at the moment, but it will not always be this way. You are asked to demonstrate that you are not an ego. Jesus does not choose God’s channel wrongly.
He chose you.
Jesus completed his part as a man, and now he can finish the task through others … you.
