God is but Love, and therefore so am I.
(153) In my defenselessness my safety lies
(154) I am among the ministers of God.
God is but Love, and therefore so am I.
I’m in Maine now at a camper at the ocean with my mother. I’m loving it.
Review V seems to me to be about BECOMING the message. There comes a point when you stop “trying to understand” what A Course in Miracles is saying, and you simply BECOME what it is saying. You become the Love of God. You become a channel of communication for the Light of God. You stop trying to “figure this out.”
How simple is this line from the Introduction to Review V, from Jesus:
“You are my voice, my eyes, my feet, my hands through which I save the world.”
There is nothing to understand. You are a channel of communication for the Love of God. There is nothing to figure out. A Course in Miracles is so simple that it is astonishing. You become what you always were: the Light of the world. You stop being a body, with all your attributes of old, fat, lonely, sick, worried, scared, and limited.
And instead you associate only with the eternal in you and you respond only to the eternal in everyone else. You focus your attention on God-given attributes like grace, innocence, peace, joy, love and happiness.
I am in Maine now with my mom at the ocean. Last night I went to an AA meeting and we read the whole chapter Step Eleven, which is absolutely my favorite Step:
11. Sought though prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
Step 11 contains the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi:
Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace!
That where there is hatred,
I may bring love.
That where there is wrong,
I may bring the spirit of forgiveness.
That where there is discord,
I may bring harmony.
That where there is error,
I may bring truth.
That where there is doubt,
I may bring faith.
That where there is despair,
I may bring hope.
That where there are shadows,
I may bring light.
That where there is sadness,
I may bring joy.
Lord, grant that I may seek rather to comfort,
than to be comforted.
To understand,
than to be understood.
To love,
than to be loved.
For it is by self-forgetting that one finds.
It is by forgiving that one is forgiven.
Here is the original prayer:
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury,pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.Amen

Ljsa,
Thank you and enjoy the sunrise.
we pray for understanding but some how it eludes us. we will read on and always keep the way clear
