Lesson 204

I am not a body. I am free.
For I am still as God created me.

(184) The Name of God is my inheritance.

I am totally out of it right now. Do you ever wake up some mornings and have no idea where you are, what day it is, what month it is, what you need to do, etc.?

And then suddenly everything comes flooding back to you.

Then you remember that it is Tuesday, that it’s your day off, that it’s July which means only 2 months away from the Europe trip, and that the car is being worked on having brake pads replaced, that the cell phone is temporarily not working and you might have to drive to Madison to the US Cellular store this afternoon, that you need to renew your license plate, that there’s no bread in the house and you need to go food shopping, and for all of these things you need money, and the list goes on and on and on.

Suddenly your mind is cluttered with ideas. All within 5 minutes of waking up.

This should be enough to show you that everything is a past idea … and that YOU, the maker, drag it into your awareness.

But then – PRAISE THE LORD! – you can remember to rise above all of it! You remember to change your mind. You re-direct your thinking. You can remember that you’re not a body. You can remember “THE LORD PROVIDES!” and all the meaningless small goals melt away in a flash.

This is the day the Lord has given to me. The day is accomplished in God. There are endless opportunities for marvelous creative experiences! Today! I don’t have to drudge along, worrying about problems. I can be here now.

I can live expectantly and in anticipation (which is different from procrastination and waiting for things to happen). It’s a different energy. Procrastination makes you slump in a chair, in boredom, waiting for external things to come to you. Anticipation is an excitement that good things are coming (that things are already happening and in motion) and that particular kind of energy moves you.

The Name of God is my inheritance.

For the past couple of days I have been talking about STAYING ABOVE THE LINE of “I am whole and perfect as God created me.”

Above the line – above the space of knowing your perfection in God is creation, communion, revelation and joy.

____________________________________________________

I AM WHOLE AND PERFECT AS GOD CREATED ME.

_____________________________________________________

Below the line – below this space – are problems, grievances, worry, fear, sickness, planning.

Also below the line is forgiveness, faith, learning, miracles, healing, perception, praying and questions.

This is not a typo. All of the above (forgiveness, miracles, healing, faith) no matter how holy and good they seem are still limitations, contained with time and space.

But within you is a power to rise above all of this. Get above the line! You are as God created you. You are the light of the world. There is nothing to forgive! There is nothing to heal! You are bigger than your problems. You are bigger than petty grievances. You are bigger than sickness.

Perception and prayer are no longer needed when knowledge has come.

A Course in Miracles says to “rise above the battleground.”

You do this in your own mind, and it doesn’t take time. Problems become challenges. They are not something to be feared, but rather problems become part of the adventure.

Last night I was told I could switch over my cell phone to a local number, and that I could do so over the telephone (without making a 50-minute trip to Madison), and as soon as I got off the phone, my cell went out of service, and another call to US Cellular and they said: oh, we’re sorry, that was a mistake. We can’t reconnect it. You have to come to Madison to the store to get it reconnected. We can’t do that over the phone. We don’t know why anyone told you that. You have to physically be at the store to reconnect the phone.

This is the kind of situation that makes most people crazy. Who the hell are these incompetent people? You wait on hold for 10 minutes. You do what THEY tell you to do (they’re customer service, they should know, right?), then they screw up and tell you it’s your fault.

??

And suddenly you have this “problem” that seemed to come out nowhere, creating all sorts of havoc and a rearranging of your schedule.

But then in one brilliant flash of clarity … you will relax. You will find the joy of God. You will experience the peace of God. You will remember that Christ is working through you. Your life is not your own at this level. You are simply a communication channel for the light of Heaven. Who knows where you are needed to go or why?? Who cares?

It’s not a problem. I rise above it. Maybe I have to drive to Madison today and get my phone connected. The customer service rep told me it would be connected automatically within 24-hours without going to Madison. Someone else told me I had to go to the store. Which is it? I have no idea. I don’t even care. Wherever Christ needs me to go is where I want to go.

Now there are no problems.

I am whole and perfect as God created me.

The Name of God is my inheritance.

What is truly astonishing is that everything I need is given to me. And not just scraps and leftovers, but the best of the best. I don’t know how it works, but it does. I just stay above the line. I stay where God is. I don’t worry about things in time & space. What a waste of power and energy.

Whatever I need is given to me. This is not a concept. Things come to me without asking, without prayer, and without visualization.

Whatever I need to fulfill a function for God just drops out of nowhere and lands in my lap. It works because the Name of God is my inheritance.

I am given everything because I recognize that I AM everything, and that I have no needs.

Total glorious paradox. I am given what I need because I have no needs!

This is a whole lot more fun (and consistent!) than the laws of attraction, which most of you have already figured out … sometimes works, and sometimes doesn’t.

The Laws of God are always consistent and they never fail. Success every time!

“God’s Name reminds me that I am His Son, not slave to time, unbound by laws which rule the world of sick illusions, free in God, forever and forever one with Him.”

Amazing, right? You’re not a slave to time. You are not governed by worldly laws. You are under no laws but God’s.

But the laws only operate in Heaven. You have to get your mind in the place where those laws are operating. Does this make sense to you? You have to get out of the battleground. Get above the line. Rise up. Be in Heaven. Be in a place where problems do not exist.
