Lesson 288
October 14th, 2008Let me forget my brother’s past today.
This is one of the most powerful lessons you will do … if … you actually do it.
If you do this lesson, you will be released from the bondages of hell, this very day … today.
Is there someone in your life who is bothering you? Is there a person who has done something to harm you? Said something hurtful? Done something mean? Is there someone who has been neglecting you? Treating you wrong? Doing something you don’t approve of?
Well, forget all that.
Forget your brother’s past today.
Can you do that?
At first it will appear difficult. How can you forget when someone gossips about you? How can you forget when someone stabs you in the back?
How can you forget when there is a knife in your heart?

How can you forget when someone treats you like a second-class citizen?
Just do it.
You’ll immediately begin to come up with excuses why you should NOT forget your brother’s past and then you will give reasons why you are an exception to this lesson.
The horror stories start to come up. The “yea, buts” start to rear their ugly head. Yea, but, listen to what so-and-so did to me. Listen to this story. You won’t believe it.
Then you’ll give reasons like you want to protect yourself and not get hurt again. You think that by holding onto a memory of your brother’s cruelty you’ll be able to protect yourself from it in the future.
HOGWASH.
Lame.
It’s all fear. If you hang on to even one story from your brother’s past, then you are a murderer. And furthermore, you like it.
Most people won’t admit it, but they like condemning other people and holding grievances.
You think other people are murderers, but it has never occurred to you that you are a murderer every time you hold your brother to his mistakes.
If you are talking or thinking about other people and the horrible way they treat you, then you are a murderer.

YOUR BROTHER IS YOUR SAVIOR.
There are no exceptions to this rule. When someone is pushing your buttons and pissing you off and ignoring you, he is still your savior.
Look at him. He is your savior.
You will say: But someone really is hurting me. How can he possibly be my savior? How can that horrible witch who intentionally destroyed my marriage be my savior? How can that dickhead who wrecked my career be my savior? I was the target of cruel behavior.
Exactly. I know you were. Me too. Horrible atrocious things have been done to me.
Now forget about it.
Forget your brother’s past today.
THIS IS THE LESSON.
THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE ASKED TO DO TODAY.
Let me forget my brother’s past today.
This is the thought that leads the way to You, God, and brings me to my goal. I cannot come to You without my brother. And to know my Source, I first must recognize what You created one with me. My brother’s is the hand that leads me on the way to You. His sins are in the past along with mine, and I am saved because the past is gone. Let me not cherish it within my heart, or I will lose the way to walk to You. My brother is my savior. Let me not attack the savior You have given me. But let me honor him who bears Your Name, and so remember that It is my own. Forgive me, then, today And you will know you have forgiven me if you behold your brother in the light of holiness. He cannot be less holy than can I, and you can not be holier than he.
