    Lesson 289

    October 15th, 2008

The past is over. It can touch me not.

This is an interesting lesson. The past is over it can touch me not, but what about the present? There are things that seem to be happening to me RIGHT NOW TODAY that are disturbing my peace of mind. For starters, I have bills that I cannot currently pay because I don’t have the money.

Is this the past or the present?

    THIS IS THE PAST.

This moment is the past. It is over. It can touch me not.

It seems like this moment is now, like it has never happened before, but in fact, in truth, this moment is the past and I am viewing it as a memory, thinking it is happening now.

If I am looking at my problems and my bills and my difficulties, then I am looking nowhere. But if I keep my eye on God, He will give me an answer and tell me the next step to take. It’s amazing.

Where does that leave me, on a practical level? What do I do?

I do nothing. I stop. I get quiet. I listen.

I calm myself down enough to remember the truth. That’s the best thing you can do in every circumstance. Stop. Calm Down. Relax. Breathe. Remember you are sustained by the Love of God.

Some days I don’t have a clue. Other days I am completely certain. It doesn’t matter. Some days I know exactly where to go and what to do. Other days I’m lost as puppy. It doesn’t matter. Whatever state of mind I am in, I keep finding my compass.

Remember the lesson from a few days ago: You are my goal, my Father, only You.

So this is a journey and God is the goal.

So everything that happens in your daily life is another opportunity to remember that your goal is God, and every step you take should lead you in that direction. The past is over it can touch me not.

Where am I right now? Where am I going?

Whenever you are in a shift or transition, you will feel immensely lost. You might feel like you are being pulled in different directions. Don’t panic. The worst thing you can do in unknown foreign territory is panic. When you don’t know what is happening to you, it’s good to stand still and let the Holy Spirit restore you to sanity. http://lh3.ggpht.com/_Xy8BfM17F5w/RV9vXs5tABI/AAAAAAAACY0/aFxz1JDn49Q/Lost-in-Transition.jpg

In the quiet moments, you will receive guidance and instruction.

The motto for Teachers of God is: Listen, Learn and Do.

That’s great advice. Listen, Learn and Do. If you start to feel paralyzed, just take a baby step in the direction toward your goal … God.

    And that’s sufficient.

Father, let me not look upon a past that is not there. For You have offered me Your Own replacement, in a present world the past has left untouched and free of sin. Here is the end of guilt. And here am I made ready for Your final step. Shall I demand that You wait longer for Your Son to find the loveliness You planned to be the end of all his dreams and all his pain?
