Hi Lisa!
This post on lesson 66 helped me to appreciate what I have right now. The questions you asked made me honestly look at my life right now and to really see all the miracles that happen everyday. I should be the happiest person in the world. I am so grateful for the job I have. I get paid to do what I've always strived to do - make people happy. When I was writing in my blog, you may remember I wrote that when I was 3 or 4 I wanted to be a clown when I grew up because I liked making people happy. Well, activities assistant isn't quite a clown but I think it's a much better occupation for me. :) I realized that I smile all day long, so much some days that my face hurts at the end of the day. I can't go into work depressed because it's my job to be happy. But, even if I wake up feeling depressed, it always goes away once I get to work. Every day people tell me they love me and how much they appreciate me. Every day there is at least one miracle that happens. Like an alzheimers patient, who doesn't even know her own children, wandering into my office everyday to say "hi" and tell me I'm pretty. LOL! One day a lady who is usually not more than a vegetable, sang and danced with me. Another day, a simple hug made all the difference to a lady who felt sad and lonely. Yesterday the weather was beautiful, so I spent half the day taking people out doors to enjoy it. It is really the simple things that can make the biggest difference. There aren't many people who can go to work and hug people and tell them that they love them all day and I am so happy I have that in my life.

It's like God knew exactly what I needed. The funny thing about how I got this job is, after I emailed my resume I got a bounce back email to come in a fill out an application. When I looked at a map of how to get there, I thought is was too far to bother with just to fill out an application so I never went. About a week later, I got a call from them to come in for an interview and I thought, "what the heck, I guess I'll see what it's all about". When I actually went it really wasn't as far as I thought. It's like this job was made just for me. It fits who I am perfectly. Even down to the schedule. I've told you I don't really like having a set in stone schedule. It is to a small degree, but if I want to work more I can and most of the time I do. It's been working out that one week I work full time and the next part time.

Speaking of work, I need to get ready to go. Thank you so much for everything.
Love,
Carrie
