My true Identity abides in You.

I always laugh when Course teachers say they are the holy Son of God, as if the image of themselves is the Son of God. This is where you’ll fly high as a kite in certainty and joy – declaring you are the Son of God – and then you’ll crash back down in uncertainty and confusion half a day later.

You, as a body, are NOT the Son of God.

But You as You, as Spirit, as Eternal Changelessness, as Love, and Power, and Joy and Light, are the Son Who God loves.

I receive a lot of letters from people practicing A Course in Miracles, and the main theme from those practicing the daily lessons is that this experience of God is not consistent for them. They have a moment of light (which can last for a day or a week or a month) and then they start getting all confused again, worrying about their bills and wondering what the heck they are still doing in time & space.

If you want consistency, you have to forget about the body and this world. It’s over. RELATE ONLY TO THE ETERNAL. You’re not here. You’re not in time & space. It’s not real. Reality is changeless and you never left Heaven. You never got sick. You never had problems. You only dreamed you did, and then you dreamed that you tried to find solutions. And then you dreamed that some of them worked. And then you dreamed that you lost the things you loved. Then you dreamed that you struggled. And it is all seems very real while you are dreaming it.

But it’s not happening. This world and all your experiences in it are a memory of an idea that was over a long time ago. You need do nothing except remember the truth: You are whole and perfect as God created you and this world has nothing to do with reality and does not exist.

You – as an identity – are NOT the Son of God. But the Son of God – the Infinite Power of all Love, all Light, all Joy – is waiting to shine through you.

I, Lisa, made an image of myself. I seem to be of a certain age, with brown hair, green eyes, and having a bunch of serial adventures from birth to death. I have certain creative abilities that I seem to possess, and a mostly happy personality, and it is this I call the Son of God.

WRONG! THIS IS NOT THE SON OF GOD.

Yet … creation is as it always was, for God’s creation is unchangeable.

Let me not worship idols. My body is not the Son of God.

BUT THERE HE IS!!!!! SHINING IN ALL HIS GLORY!!! LOOKING THROUGH ME!!! AND SPEAKING THROUGH ME. WORKING THROUGH ME.

My true Identity is in God.

Thank you Father!!!

My holiness remains the light of Heaven and the Love of God.

The whole thing is over. Do you realize you cannot make a decision in this moment that is going to affect your future? It’s impossible because you already made all decisions a very long time ago in the short instant when this world seemed to arise. In this seeming -now- moment, you are only living out the effects of what already happened. What fun!!! So there is nothing you can decide to do in your future because you already decided everything about a billion years ago.

All you can decide today is go to the end where the whole thing is accomplished. You took this journey already. It’s over. You underwent the transformation. You woke up. IT’S ACCOMPLISHED. You are joined with your brother in love. You recognize you have everything. This is true already, so what are you waiting for? Why wait for Heaven? It is here and now.

Why are you doing what you are doing? What is the purpose? There is nothing happening here. This is a dream and does not exist. You live and move in God.

My true Identity abides in You, God.

Period. End of story.

Very insightful explanation, Lisa. One I hope more and more “Sons of God” will ponder. I think accepting one’s Self as the Divine Creation of the Father could very well be one of the final traps of the ego. “Know” the Self as God’s creation without trying to perceive the self as God’s creation and ya just might have half a chance. :)
It might help to have a thorough understanding of Zen (without all the stoic, dark stuff that sometimes goes along with it. A true Zen Master (who, no doubt we’ll never run into on the street)understands the Oneness. Most self-professed Zen masters don’t.
Speaking of Zen: old Zen saying is that when the student is ready the Master will appear. The Holy Spirit is waiting. What have we done lately to show our readiness?
