Forgiveness is a choice.

“I choose to see my brother’s sinlessness.” – A Course in Miracles, Lesson 335

This is just the most beautiful awesome fantastic lesson. I choose to see my brother in light – past all appearances – to the truth that he really is – without sin.

Here is the reason for all my joy. You are my brother! The Christ! I love you with all my heart. I thank God for you. You are such a gift to me.

I just love this lesson. I choose to see my brother’s sinlessness.

Forgiveness is a choice.

What my brother IS is far beyond perception. So what my body’s eyes show me is NOT what my brother is.

“What I see in him is merely what I wish to see, because it stands for what I want to be the truth. It is to this alone that I respond, however much I seem to be impelled by outside happenings.”

It’s amazing when you make a decision to let the past and future go. You stop struggling. You stop resisting. As Abraham-Hicks likes to say: you let go of the oars. You surrender and let the force of the river take you where it is leading you: right exactly to where you want to be.

You actually “need do nothing.” The Holy Spirit will take you exactly to the places you need and want to go. You don’t have to plan anymore. You can stop striving. You can stop pushing to make things happen. Just relax. Have fun. Have a little faith. Have a little trust.

You are the light of the world.

From A Course in Miracles, Chapter 8, Section 5:

I am come as a light into the world which does deny itself everything. It does this simply by dissociating itself from everything. It is therefore an illusion of isolation, MAINTAINED by fear of the same loneliness which is its illusion. I have told you that I am with you always even to the end of the world. That is why I am the light of the world. If I am with you in the loneliness of the world, the loneliness is gone. You cannot maintain the illusion of loneliness if you are not alone.

My purpose, then, is to overcome the world. I do not attack it, but my light must dispel it because of WHAT IT IS. Light does not ATTACK darkness, but it does shine it away. If my light goes with you everywhere, you shine it away with ME. The light becomes ours, and you CANNOT abide in darkness, any more than darkness can abide anywhere you go. The remembrance of me is the remembrance of yourself and of Him Who sent me to you.

What tremendous freedom to not respond to events that my body’s eyes show me! What joy! A huge weight is lifted off you when you allow things to be EXACTLY as they are, without trying to change it.

What I see is merely what I wish to see, because it stands for what I want to be the truth. It is to this alone that I respond however much I seem to be impelled by outside happenings.

I choose to see what I would look upon, and this I see, and only this. My brother’s sinlessness shows me that I would look upon my own. And I will see it, having chosen to behold my brother in its holy light.

Memory of God is restored to me as I see my brother’s sinlessness. His holiness reminds me that he was created one with me, and like myself. In him I find my Self, and in Your Son I find the memory of You as well.
