Once you know where you’re going, getting there is easy.
It’s the figuring-out-where-you-want-to-go part that is difficult!!!
But once a decision has been made and you know where you’re going (once the goal is set), getting there is easy.
This is a message that I sent to my coaching group on June 8, 2010 on the 37th day of the 6-week program. I was on the road, moving my life from Wisconsin to New Hampshire. I had great revelation while I was driving.
Here it is:
June 8, 2010
I’m in Syracuse, New York now – 6 hours away from my destination.
Yee-haw. It’s been a great trip.
Yesterday while I was driving, I listened to an Abraham-Hicks CD and there was a great analogy that if you are driving from Texas to San Diego (or in my case Wisconsin to New Hampshire) you don’t turn around when you are halfway there just because you’re not there yet.
You keep going.
You don’t do a U-turn in the middle of the route, giving up in frustration.
Instead, you feel EXCITEMENT knowing that you’re getting closer, knowing that you’re heading in the right direction of where you want to go.
Yet, the mass majority of people turn around halfway to their destination, in frustration, complaining that they’re not there yet, and that’s why they never get there.
THEY TURNED AROUND!
But if you keep going – just do what’s IN FRONT of you – you will get to where you want to go. That’s the key. Just do what’s in front of you, and don’t look back (Jesus says, “Follow me. Don’t look back Lest you be turned into a pillar of salt”).
FORWARD AHEAD. STRAIGHT TO GOD.
And I just love that – because I could get to New Hampshire faster if I wanted to (driving through the night) or I can take my time and get there when I want. I could take a month or a year getting there if I wanted.
The speed of “how fast” it takes me is up to me.
But I would never get to New Hampshire if I landed in Ohio and got frustrated that I wasn’t there yet, and turned my car back around to Wisconsin, while thinking “it’s never going to work, I’m never going to get there, I might as well just give up, this is just a waste of time.”
But see, I KNOW I’M GOING TO GET THERE as long as I keep heading in the right direction. As long as I keep consulting the map that I’m on the right road, and that the destination is in sight.
DON’T LOSE SIGHT OF YOUR DESTINATION.
Remember, the goal is God. The goal is happiness. The goal is to know thyself. If you’re not there yet, keep going. That’s how simple this gets. Don’t do a U-turn. Don’t despair. Just keep going.
I don’t stall in Ohio in frustration and despair. I don’t throw a temper-tantrum. I don’t sink into depression.
Keep going with your eye on the destination and you’ll get there. And in the meantime: ENJOY THE RIDE! 
ENJOY THE SCENERY. Getting there is half the fun!
Simple, right?
A Course in Miracles is your map. Your goal is God. Your goal is happiness. You’ll get there if you keep going. The speed in which you arrive is entirely up to you.
Esther Hicks also tells a great white-river story. She and Jerry decided to try white-river rafting and there was a group of 6, and also another group, and not one single person in the group had an idea to turn the boat upstream against the current. NOT ONE! They all put their boats in facing downstream to work with the power of the river. And that’s God. You want to work with the power and current of God, and NOT struggle against it. You want to allow yourself to flow.
In fact, the CD is called “The Art of Allowing.”
You want to start allowing yourself to flow.
No more resistance.
No more struggling against life.
She also said that everyone says they want the “outcome” (the manifestation, the money, the house, the finished product, “the stuff” (WHERE’S MY STUFF???? ) but that’s not what anyone really wants. What everyone wants in THE EXPERIENCE – the thrill of living – the excitement of going in the direction you want to go and feeling alive by it.
She said it would be like arriving at the river, and then saying to the river guide, okay, let’s just put the boat on top of the car and drive down to the finish line. And the guide says “but I thought you wanted to ride this river??”
LOL.
I thought you wanted to ride this river?
You want the experience of life. You want to enjoy the ride because it’s ALL good, not just the finish line.
And then she says my all-time favorite sentence by the river guide as they are all facing this very-fast moving river: “FRIENDS, THIS IS NOT DISNEYLAND AND WE CANNOT TURN THIS RIVER OFF.”
HAHA. The river guide is giving them an idea of the POWER of the river – it’s not Disneyland and you can’t turn it off – and Jesus is giving you an idea of the POWER of God.
Today’s instruction is about KNOWING YOUR GOAL and heading in that direction, using the map to get there, and not doubting just because you’re not there yet.
If you’re not yet where you want to go, you’re almost there. Keep going. Whatever you do, don’t turn back.
KEEP GOING.
If you don’t know where you’re going, you’ll never get there, and that’s the difficulty with most people. They say they want to go somewhere (for things to change) but they don’t know where they want to go.
Today I want you to look over your intentions that you wrote last week.
Look over the goals you set.
See where you are on the map.
Know where you’re going.
Just like with a road trip, sometimes there are obstacles and delays and road blocks. But it’s all part of the journey, and that’s what makes it so great.
The unknown is scary and there can be a great temptation to turn around to your life of safety, routine and habit as you start moving further away from it. You’re not sure what awaits you. I’M NOT SURE WHAT AWAITS ME. But I still keep heading forward because I’ve set the goal and I know where I’m going.
Do you know where you’re going? Do you know what you want?
Once you know where you’re going, getting there is easy.
You won’t go down other roads because that doesn’t make any sense. I know I’m heading east and it wouldn’t make any sense to head south or west. And that’s how it with A Course in Miracles. When happiness is your goal, you wouldn’t dream of heading down a road of conflict because that takes you off in a whole other direction.

Hi there,
Just a little newsy update from me.
I’m living in New Hampshire with weekends in Maine with my mom.
Fun in the sun. I am loving New England. I am loving being so close to the ocean.
I’m meeting readers for the first time in my life, feeling like a little kid again meeting my playmates. IT’S THRILLING, is what it is. It’s made me realize how much I love being around people, how important it is to me to be with my companions from Heaven.
I just got back from a 5-day trip to Boston which was amazing. WOW. What a gift!
The time has come where individuals are realizing they want ONLY the experience of God, to participate in extending the Light to all their brothers (to all the “lonely and weary ones”) to be in service, to be useful, and to share in that Love, to be in the celebration of joining.
Out of nowhere on the Boston trip came an idea to organize a Gorgeous for God workshop in the fall.
Woohooo.
At first I really cringed at the idea because over the years I have moved away from the idea of “Gorgeous for God.” I don’t use the name at all anymore (except in the banner on my website) and in the way that I carry myself throughout the day.
But in my mind, Gorgeous for God was over a long time ago.
But then I got to Boston and WOW. I met with the most amazing beauties I’ve ever seen, who have enough excitement and enthusiasm to move mountains. Seriously. Bombshell Central. GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!! These Light Workers are the living embodiment of everything I wrote about in my book. It was a sight to see such dedication, love for Jesus, and GORGEOUSNESS all in one place. It was non-stop gorgeousness for a week.
YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!
One night a bunch of us were lounging around at midnight, as girls like to do, laughing and having fun, and suddenly came one lovely female voice, the sound of an angel: LISA, GORGEOUS FOR GOD IS YOUR SIGNATURE.
It took me completely by surprise, but also excited me because I could instantly see how much fun it would be – GORGEOUS for GOD.
Not just for gorgeousness sake, but gorgeous FOR GOD. Coming into the fullness of WHO YOU ARE as light and allowing the body to be used SOLELY for communication for the Holy Spirit’s Purpose. That’s gorgeousness.
What a privilege to be with my mighty companions at midnight. I want more nights just like that one. I want weekends like that. I want whole weeks like that – pure joining, laughter, community, remembering and listening, and love. AND FOOD! Of course.
Oh, my Lord!! The food!!! It was YUM.
What better way to share than by breaking bread with your brothers?
Thank you Father for the communion we find in You.
So, we’re organizing a workshop in Boston – probably October 2010. If you are interested, please write to me, let me know, so I can get a general ballpark idea of what kind of space we need. We have a space already (WOOHOO!!) but we might need something bigger. And right now it’s a one-day event, but let me hear from you because we could do a weekend event.
Secondly, I’ve been doing private one-on-one coaching and loving every second of it. It’s a 6-week coaching program called Stop Waiting, Be Happy.
I’ll be the first to say it. It’s awesome. I love it. Why??? Because I’m amazed to see the PROMISES of Jesus (there is only love, miracles should be happening every day) spring to life in so many people. I am in AWE by what I’m witnessing.
All that is needed is a desire and willingness to be done with conflict, and the Holy Spirit does the rest.
It’s accomplished.
I used to ask people (myself included) “Do you want to be happy?” and of course, everyone says YES to that question (including me) and so I was always baffled why if I’m saying Yes, I want to be happy” then why still the sadness and depression??? Why the roller-coaster ride? Why the inconsistency? The up and down emotions???
And what I found is that the real question to find out if someone truly wants to be happy is to ask THIS question – “Are you done with conflict?”
ARE YOU DONE WITH CONFLICT?
Because when you say “yes!” to THAT question, then the way is open and all you’ve ever wanted is right there for you.
I’m witnessing transformations that quite literally leave me speechless. I was going to start another 6-week group on August 5th but have decided to change the format so that it’s more flexible.
You will be able to sign up when it’s convenient for you (and not just August 5th) and there will be a payment option to pay in 4 installments.
And when the spots are filled, I’ll put that Sold Out button back up.
This is private one-on-one coaching. It’s not an automated program. It’s a chance to work privately with me for 6 weeks to end conflict and find consistent happiness. A Course in Miracles is true. Jesus means EXACTLY what he says. There’s no need to struggle. There’s no need for pain. There’s no need for problems. God’s Will for you is PERFECT happiness.
That’s your inheritance. All you gotta do is sign for it, and it’s yours.

Today is about GOD DEPENDENCE.
It’s about becoming who you are as God created you – a perfect little child of Light.
God Dependence is as simple as being present, knowing you are being taken care of perfectly. It doesn’t even require trust!! Think about little kids in a loving home. They don’t “trust” (as a way to get their needs taken care of) … they’re just little kids!!!! And as a result … their needs are taken care of. They don’t “do” anything. They are defenseless and innocent and everything is given to them. Not because of anything they have “done” but because of Who they are and because they are loved and lovable. That’s how that works.
AND THAT’S YOU. You’re a child of God, loved and lovable.
You are in a loving home, with a Father who loves you very very much. He has all Power and wants to give you everything.
ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS REMEMBER HIM.
That’s it: Remember God. That’s the whole instruction – start, beginning and end, remember God. That’s it. There’s really nothing else to do.
Most people are so distracted by all the noise of their mind and the world that they never take a quiet moment to BE STILL AND LISTEN AND REMEMBER.
Today: BE STILL AND LISTEN AND REMEMBER.

Lesson 153: In my defenselessness my safety lies.
Salvation can be thought of as a game that happy children play. It was designed by One Who loves His children, and Who would replace their fearful toys with joyous games which teach them that the game of fear is gone. His game instructs in happiness because there is no loser. Everyone who plays must win, and in his winning is the gain to everyone ensured. The game of fear is gladly laid aside when children come to see the benefits salvation brings.
You who have played that you are lost to hope, abandoned by your Father, left alone in terror in a fearful world made mad by sin and guilt, be happy now. That game is over. Now a quiet time has come in which we put away the toys of guilt, and lock our quaint and childish thoughts of sin forever from the pure and holy minds of Heaven’s children and the Son of God. We pause but for a moment more, to play our final happy game upon this earth. And then we go to take our rightful place where truth abides and games are meaningless.
So is the story ended. Let this day bring the last chapter closer to the world, that everyone may learn the tales he reads of terrifying destiny, defeat of all his hopes, his pitiful defense against a vengeance he can not escape, was but his own deluded fantasy. God’s ministers have come to waken him from the dark dreams this story has evoked in his confused, bewildered memory of this distorted tale. God’s Son can smile at last, on learning that it is not true.
“Except you become as little children” means unless you fully recognize your complete dependence on God, you cannot know the real power of the Son in his relationship to the Father.”
Readiness here means keep your perception right side up, (or valid), so you will ALWAYS be ready, willing, and able. These are the essentials for “listen, learn, and do.” You must be:
READY to listen
WILLING to learn
and ABLE to do.
“Dependence on God is really freedom from all other dependencies. Paradoxically, it is also the only route to real intimacy with other human beings.” – Julia Cameron, The Artist’s Way
Depending on God for everything.
Trusting in Him to take care of all of your needs.
Leaning on Him.
Letting Him take the lead.
The ultimate paradox is “doing” and “not doing” at the same time.
I think probably the most highly misunderstood sentence in A Course in Miracles is “I need do nothing.”
What this sentence means is that YOU do nothing, and the Holy Spirit does everything THROUGH YOU. “I need do nothing” means He does everything.
So it’s not an invitation to “do nothing” and lounge on the couch watching tv, waiting for someone to show up with miracles on a silver platter.
It’s an invitation to LISTEN to the Holy Spirit and then follow Him where He takes you. The “miracle” is that He leads you where you need to go – straight to your inheritance.
This section is from A Course in Miracles, Chapter 1, (it’s from the original manuscript – this section was edited out of the published version). Jesus is speaking to you, as a miracle worker:
“Having been restored to your original state, you naturally become part of the Atonement yourself. You now share MY inability to tolerate the lack of love in yourself and in everyone else, and MUST join the GREAT CRUSADE to correct it. The slogan for this Crusade is “Listen, Learn, and DO.”
This means:
Listen to MY Voice, Learn to undo the error, and DO something to correct it.The first two are not enough. The real members of MY party are ACTIVE workers.
The power to work Miracles BELONGS to you. I will create the right opportunities for you to do them. But you must be ready and willing to do them, since you are already able to. Doing them will bring conviction in the ability. I repeat that you will see Miracles through your hands through MINE. Conviction really comes through accomplishment. Remember that ability is the potential, Achievement is its expression, and Atonement is the Purpose.”
You’re a member of Jesus’ party. And the members of his party are ACTIVE workers.
Often times, God will give you your answer in the form of a thought to take an action (to get a job, make a phone call, drive your car somewhere, send an email, take a walk, etc.) or he will send in some angels in the form of humans. YOUR JOB IS TO LISTEN. Stay alert when help arrives. I love the story of the guy in a flood who “trusted in God” to save him.
A terrible storm came into a town and local officials sent out an emergency warning that the riverbanks would soon overflow and flood the nearby homes. They ordered everyone in the town to evacuate immediately.
A faithful Christian man heard the warning and decided to stay, saying to himself, “I will trust God and if I am in danger, then God will send a divine miracle to save me.”
The neighbors came by his house and said to him, “We’re leaving and there is room for you in our car, please come with us!” But the man declined. “I have faith that God will save me.”
As the man stood on his porch watching the water rise up the steps, a man in a canoe paddled by and called to him, “Hurry and come into my canoe, the waters are rising quickly!” But the man again said, “No thanks, God will save me.”
The floodwaters rose higher pouring water into his living room and the man had to retreat to the second floor. A police motorboat came by and saw him at the window. “We will come up and rescue you!” they shouted. But the man refused, waving them off saying, “Use your time to save someone else! I have faith that God will save me!”
The flood waters rose higher and higher and the man had to climb up to his rooftop.
A helicopter spotted him and dropped a rope ladder. A rescue officer came down the ladder and pleaded with the man, “Grab my hand and I will pull you up!” But the man STILL refused, folding his arms tightly to his body. “No thank you! God will save me!”
Shortly after, the house broke up and the floodwaters swept the man away and he drowned.
When in Heaven, the man stood before God and asked, “I put all of my faith in You. Why didn’t You come and save me?”
And God said, “Son, I tried to 5 times! I sent you a warning. I sent you a car. I sent you a canoe. I sent you a motorboat. I sent you a helicopter. What more were you looking for?”
I love that story because there are angels and opportunities everywhere.
Once you have set your intention (have you set an intention?) then “step back and let Him lead the way.”
The day is accomplished in God.
I intend to live this day in joy.
There is not a single thing that can disturb my peace of mind.
I let HIM lead the way.
How simple is salvation.
Today, I ask that you be still. Think about what it means to be loved and lovable. Think about what it means to be a child. Think about what it means to have a Father who longs to give you everything. Listen. Just be still and listen. Remember.
Look how simple this is! Be still and listen and remember.
And then after that, simply have the willingness to follow what you’ve heard.
That’s the whole Plan.
Right there. Listen, Learn and Do.

Here is a question that practically everyone I know who has A Course in Miracles asks at one time or another: “If this is a dream, then what am I still doing here?????”
ha. Great question. First of all, you’re not here. It’s a dream.
Secondly, if you THINK you’re here, forgiveness is your function.
It’s up to you.
That will either piss you off or make you very happy!
Because now the time factor is up to you. Now you’re no longer a victim. You are no longer a slave to external situations or to the world. You’re free. You decide how long it takes to be where you have always been, home in Heaven as God created you.
The time it takes for you to be where God is can take 5 minutes or it can take 5000 years. It’s up to you.
The world’s salvation lies in your hands.
You’re here until there is not ONE SPOT of darkness left in your mind.
You’re here until every i has been dotted and every t has been crossed.
There can be no exceptions, none, not even the tiniest little grievance that you think you’re getting away with.
Either forgiveness is total or it is nothing at all.
Either you forgive everyone or you have forgiven no one.
There are no exceptions.
You’re here until every single figure in your dream (including yourself) has been forgiven.
Can you see the necessity for practicing???
The whole world is depending on you.
Salvation of the world depends on you.
FORGIVENESS IS YOUR FUNCTION HERE.
